My first year

This year has been my first year of Bachillerato, one stage very important for the future.

There was a change very hard reegarding the last year, 4th ESO, but for me there wasn't any problems for pass al my exams and have got good califications. There was new subjects, like philosophy or english project, and new classmates of other places.

In conclussion, this year has been very good, because I have learnt a lot and it's only one year until we go to university

Hello class,
I will present the section of the magazine of the class that I with other classmate we have done. The section of the magazine is about the theater that the two groups in the class has done for physical education, one of them, in which I participated, has been the theater of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. The other theater it was entitled andalusians in the world. 

Trip to milan

Hi everybody, i´m going to present my section of the magazine of my clas, Sciences Freaks.

In this section, we have told about the trip of Milan, the experiences that we have had in Italy and the expirience of live in your house with a foreign friend. This section have been written by all of the people of my clas that we have gone to Milan. Exactly, I have made the trip to Italy, with Pilar and Maria. In this part we have told to you our experience in Milan.

Hello people!

In this term, our class has made a magazine.  My personal work has talked about the school trip to Sierra Nevada.

There, I passed very good moments with my classmates and since I was doing the article about it, I could remember these unforgotten moments. I am waiting for next year’s trip for go there again and ski again.

I passed a good time while I was skiing with my friends. All our falls were legendary!

Hi, everyone! I am going to do my personal valuation about this school year.

All people I talked to said me that 1º Bach was really difficult, but for me it has not been too difficult. It has not been as easy as ESO, but with a bit of work and effort it is not difficult as people say.

There have been some new subjects for me, like philosophy or CMC, and they have needed more work and at last they have begun easier because now I know how to study them.

Next year, I will feel the ‘great change’ from 1ºBach to 2ºBach!

Schoolyear summary

The schoolyear is about to finish, and I would like to tell my own opinion about the subject and, in general, about all the subjects and the experiences all along the year.
First of all, I have to say that it has not seen as difficult as everybody said before we were at 1st Bachillerato. It is true that you have to study moré than any of the years of ESO, but, with a little bit of effort, you can pass all the exams.

Talking about the subject of "Proyecto Integrado", I think that is a very good idea to join the school work and new technologies, because nowadays, you need some computer knowledges to get any job.

In general, under my point of view, I think that this year has helped us to learn a lot of new things, to meet a lot of good friends and to live a lot of new experiences that will be in our minds forever.

   Hello again!

   This time I have to say good bye, because the school finishes and my holidays starts! I have to say that this subject has been a new experience for me, I´ve never had a blog or done a magazine. I think that with this subject I´ve  learnt to work into a group and I´ve learnt about technology too. Thanks to our teacher for everything that she has taught us and have a good summer! :)

Hello everybody!

Today is a very special day,  I have finished my exams and my first year in Bachillerato has finished too.  My group did an article for the magazine about the changed between ESO and Bachillerato and I would like to express my own opinion. I think that the most difficult things of this year haven't been maths or philosophy, it has been the changed. Now, we have to spent many hours studying, because ours  marks will decide our future and what we can study at the university.
It hasn't been easy for me, but we have already finished and now we have a long summer for enjoying!

CLIMBING A STEP

      Hi everybody!

    This school year is finishing. It has been full of adventures, smiles, friendship and, above all, striking reminds. We have had different and new subjects and one of them is P.I (Integrated Project), which has made us learn a bit more about using technologies and as well as practising English.

      From my own point of view, this subject has been great! Firstly, we created the blog, which has become a gate to the technological world, specially to the Internet. After that we prepared our presentations about countries less famous with English language. My group and I worked with information on Canada.

     We did something similar in the second term but in this occasion the main topic was our village, San Roque. In this occasion we did a prezi and a video, which was a new opportunity for us to enjoy the technological media.

     However, a new adventure was waiting us. It was time for a new magazine to take place. We have become writers and we have drafted many articles.

     All these things have been very good for us but they have not been the only ones. For me, the work teams, the creativity, the innovation or the originality have been values we have had in this subject.

       In conclusion, P.I is an educative subject I recommend everybody. Experience Integrated Project!

READING

    Today, I am not going to write an entry to give information or to think about something. If you think so, you are mistaken. In this occasion, I am going to talk you about one of my hobbies: reading

    I love reading! I usually read magazines, newspapers and, above all, books. This year, at high school, Spanish teachers have given us a list of some books we could read. These ones are related to the literature we are studying nowadays. For this reason, I have read lots of classic books and writers: Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Calderón de la Barca, Bécquer and so on.

    In addition, I have also read language books, science articles, and, of course, when I have had free time, novels. I often read them at summer.

    I think reading is a great activity because you can learn a lot about things you like and, furthermore, you can identify with the characters of the books.

HOW IS COMUNICATION NOWADAYS?

    Hello everybody!

    Communication is a phenomenon which is essential nowadays. Almost all the countries in the world use it to inform about what is happening, However, this is not the unique utilization of the communication media, since there are some of them that are dedicated to show clothes which are fashionable or to explain how to play videogames.

    Concerning the written press, I have to emphasize we can find different types: diaries (like newspapers), weekly magazines, monthly papers (in general, specialized press, such as scientific publications) and, finally, yearbooks.

    In my opinion, the most populous ones are the newspapers because they are having a big diffusion on the Internet too. We have dairies which are very famous in the whole work, like the Times, Le Figaro or Bild. Furthermore, we dispose of national habitual press, as El Mundo, ABC, El País or La Razón.

    Although these are the most known in a national context, we must not forget the local press. In our area, we have newspapers like Europa Sur or El Faro, TVs, radios and, of course, magazines.

     In conclusion, I believe communication is an essential issue of our lives and newspapers can be an important part of it.

OUR HIGH SCHOOL'S MOTIVATION

        Hi everybody!

     Last Wednesday, the high school celebrated the graduation of the students of the second year of Bachillerato. It was really striking, since it was the end of a nice period at high school. As the students said, they are full of nice remembers about partners and teachers, and the will never forget them!

      As you can see, José Cadalso high school is always organizing different things. Students and, of course, teachers, prepare events and quiz, and, at the same time, they work a lot. One of these events was the festival Cadalso in Concert,  where skifull people could participate.

     I participated in Cadalso in Concert II as a member of the communication group. In an 'informative advance', I can show you my opinion of this festival, evidently, from the point of view of a 'journalist'. This article will be published in our magazine.

PARIS

     Good afternoon!

    Nowadays there are many  problems with the murders and crimes in big cities, like London or Paris. Everyday we watch the images of the police, the army and so on.

    Today I have read in the newspaper something about a soldier in Paris and I have seen many pictures about some members of the army in the underground.

    However, this is always in this way, not only when there are dangerous situations. When we travelled to Paris with our high school, we used to take the underground to move. In some stations, like 'Gare de Lyon', there were a lot of soldiers watching the area. 

    In fact a partner's wallet was stolen and we called the soldiers. They quickly began to run and they called the police control. They paid attention to us and finally one of our teachers recovered the purse. It was amazing!

BYE BYE AREA!

    Hello!

    As everybody knows, we are working on a magazine, which is a very famous type of press nowadays. There are a lot of types of magazines and many of them are very successful. More or less, it ocurred the same with the newspapers. Futhermore, the success has increased due to the new technologies difussion.

    However, the local press is crossing a bad time because of the economic situation. It is the point where I want to arrive. Some days ago, a newspaper of this district, 'Campo de Gibraltar', called 'Area' dissapeared. There is not enough money to publish it and, mainly, it was read by aged people. 'Area' is one of the medias which have been lost. Something similar happened to the magazine 'Alameda', from San Roque.

    Maybe, you can ask me: what do you want to tell us with these things? 

    The answer is easy. I just want to tell you we generally think press is increasing a lot, and there are new ones. On the other hand, the local medias, like radios, newspapers or magazines are disappearing quickly.

     'Area' forever!

Hi everybody!

   As you know, one of my articles at the magazine is about the visit of our Italian friends to Spain and I would like to tell you something about it, because it was very special for me. We spent an incredible week all together. We visited many places, they met our Spanish friends and our families, our high school... They try typical Spanish food, even they danced flamenco!

But this is only a small part. I´m sorry, I can´t tell you more!

    Hi again!

    This time we have a very interesting proyect and all the class is going to participate. We are going to do a magazine which includes everything that we can tell you about this year. In addiction, we are going to talk about the activities and travels that we have done and it includes  some interview to teachers and students.
 
    I´m going to write an article with two classmate more about the interchange with Milán, specifically about the visit of the Italian students to Spain. And with my group "A New World Of Possibilities" I´m going to do an interview to our philosophy´s teacher and the student´s opinion about the differences between ESO and Bach.

A NEW PROJECT FOR THIS TERM

    

    Hi everybody!

   

    As you know, we have returned and this term, we are working in a project to create a magazine. All of us are going to write different articles, and I will be the person in charge to tell you something about Paris. I think I will do it with two partners of other groups, Lost and The Bunnies, who came also to the trip. 

    

    I suppose you are informed about the event which has been realized by our high school, called Cadalso in Concert II. It was last Friday and I participated in a technical group for the communication. On Monday, we made a press conference, so maybe, I will write an article on that.

    

    In addition, I am preparing a text about the differences between Secondary and Bachillerato, and I am going to opine about a new subject this year: Philosophy. I will do it with the members of A new world of possibilities.

    

    I am going to go on showing you the topics we are writing about, so in a short time I will give you photos and news about Paris.

   

NEW TERM, NEW PROJECT

    Hello everybody!

    Our Easter’s holidays have finished, so we have had to return the classes again. This term, in this subject, Proyecto Integrado, we are going to work in a magazine.

    All our partners are going to create a magazine to publish different activities, articles or news related to the school year. Its name will be ‘Science Freaks’. This title is due to a class group we have in the mobile phone chat.

    In relation to the articles, we have to say that they have been distributed depending on the groups and the people’s participation in the variety activities.

    For instance, we are going to write an article on the changes between  Secondary Obligatory Education and Bachillerato, with the ideas and the opinions of all the members of A new world of possibilities. Moreover, we are interviewing our philosophy teacher, because philosophy is something new for us, so we will tell you something about this subject.

CADALSO IN CONCERT

Hello everybody!

The second week after Easter, our high school is going to celebrate the second edition of "Cadalso in concert". Last year, IES Jose Cadalso drive this initiative for support the progress of students habilities about music, dance and other disciplines.

Last year edition was amazing. We discovered the habilities of a lot of schoolmates that we did not know. Last year's most striking performance for me was a performance of a boy who danced the salsa and I had never imagined how he danced.

I think that this year's edition will be better than last year's edition, because the students has trained much more than last year. I am sure that we will pass a good time there!

Hello again guys!
   Last mondey, the 11th, we've done the presentation of this term. It was about the general view of San Roque and it was seriously amazing with the colaboration of all my partners.
   My part consisted in the gastronommy, I have to say that I was impressed because I discovered too many places that I have never heard before! so it was worth.
After some days looking for information the best restaurants are "El Tendio" placed in Campamento and "El estribo" situated in Pueblo Nuevo two of all the San Roque's village, they can serve to you excellent meat and wine.
But don't worry because if you want another thing, for example have some drinks with friends, you could go to a pub, the best is "El Gato Andaluz" mentioned in another input before this one.
Now I have to go to do some sport!

    Hello everybody!

 Gato Andaluz

    Hello everybody, I would show you a nice place in San Roque  where you can fun with San Roque's people. 

    This place it's called "Gato Andaluz" and it's located in Mirador Poeta Domingo de Mena. 

Gato Andaluz it's a nice pub where you can do a lot of things.You can drink something with your friends after dinner or after lunch or you can wacth football matches.  It's a meeting place too, because it's situated in the centre of San Roque.

   I hope that you will go soon, you will have a good time.

CHURCHES OF SAN ROQUE

     Hi again!

    This week, I would like to tell you a bit of the temples of San Roque. Here, there are four different ones: Santa María la Coronada, La Visitación, Los Olivillos and La Ermita.

    The first one, Santa María la Coronada church, is the most important. All the religious facts are celebrated here, like the mass, the speeches and so on. The most of sculptures are here too. Now, in Easter time, there are extra celebrations, like the opening adresses.
 
    Other of the churchs is La Visitación, which is used on Sunday's morning. This church is also important, because it is a good place for the people who live in the nursing home.

    The two other chapels are hardly ever utilized, only some days in Easter.

SAN ROQUE'S TV

    Hello again!

    Today, I would like to tell you something about the communication in our village.

    Firstly, I must say that Multimedia is the main company in this issue. Multimedia is composed by the TV, the radio and the communication via Internet. I think it is also in the control of the web page of the Town Hall and other websites.

    Regarding the TV, it is important to know there is a variety programming. Nowadays, the most famous ones are the News and 'Con Olor a Incienso', a show related to Easter.

    The radio programmes are usually heard in the morning and the websites are the most popular, because they are read by thousand of inhabitants. If you want more information, you can search here:

Santa María La Coronada church and the main square

          In this church we find the sepulture of José Cadalso and the religious images that Spanish  

         could bring from Gibraltar. It is located on the highest point of the village.

  

             

   Alameda de Alfonso XI was built in 1831. It is the central pedestrian square of the

village and inside it is Juan Luis Galiardo Theater.

Hi everybody again! 

  As you know I'm Lucía and I'm member of A New World Of Possibilities. We have a new proyect and it is about San Roque, our village. In this proyect you will find many different and interesting things about San Roque and I'm going to talk you about the monuments like the bullring, which is very old and some beatiful and interesting places, like  beaches or Sotogrande. CARNIVAL

    Hello again!

    Last weekend, we had something interesting and funny to do: enjoying  in carnivals. This year, there was a big procession, where a lot of 'sanroqueños'  participated in different ways, above all, getting dressed. Moreover, the best costume won a prize. In this occasion, the winners were some teenagers getting dressed of barbies.

    Carnival is a very popular party in our village because of the influence of Cádiz, the province where San Roque is situated. It is the main festivity in the city and there are important competitions. Some people, like 'El Selu', 'El Love' o 'El Canijo' sing funny songs and wear striking costumes every year.

    In San Roque, there was also a tent to dance and to have a nice time with friends. You should come next year!

ONE OF OUR SURVEYS

    Hi again!

    The members of A new world of possibilities have finished the survey about the sightseem tourism. The 80% of the survey respondents have chosen the option of ' both can be posible' (it is a good way of learning art and culture and it is great to enjoy). The 20% of the people prefere sightseem tourism only to learn art and culture.

    We propose you a new one about San Roque, the project which we are working about. Thank you very much for your participation and you can answer the new survey!

THE POPULATION

    Hello!

    As you know, we go on working on the project about San Roque and, this time I am going to tell you something about its population.

    Nowadays, there are 30,000 citizens, more or less, in San Roque. Approximately, 4,000 people are not Spanish, above all British, due to the influence of Gibraltar. The residents are distributed in the different districts or areas.

    The ‘Casco’ is the area with more people, 10800, the 40% of the inhabitants more or less. It is followed by the Valley of Guadiaro, with 8700 residents; the inland area with a population of 6200; and the bay where 4300 people live.

THE BULLRING

    Hi everybody!

    I would like to tell you something interesting about a very famous monument in San Roque: the bullring.

    Our bullring was built in 1853, being the second oldest one in Cádiz, and one of the ancient bullrings of Spain. It was inaugurated in August 1853, in the fair of San Roque. Firstly, it was circled by forest, but little by little, the area was built and nowadays it is in the town centre.

    This place is used in the local fair in August and lots of important bullfighters have been here. The bullring was always private and just now, 20 years ago (in 1993) was bought by the Town Hall.

SOMETHING ABOUT SAN ROQUE

    Hello everybody!

    As you know, my name is Curro Manzano and I am a member of 'A new world of possibilities'.

    This term we are working on San Roque. I am the person in charge of looking for information about the geographic, municipal and social situation of this village.

    San Roque is located in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. It is a village where there are 25,000 people living here, distributed in the town itself and its surroundings. Our village is formed by the city centre and the ten districts: Campamento, Puente Mayorga and Guadarranque (the area of the bay); Sotogrande, San Enrique, Guadiaro, Pueblo Nuevo and Torreguadiaro (the area of the Mediterranean Sea and the Valley of Guadiaro); and Taraguilla and La Estación (the inland area).

    San Roque belongs to the 'Campo de Gibraltar', an area which incorporates different towns of the south of Spain, in the province of Cádiz.

OUR NEW PROJECT

    Hello again!

    Christmas holidays finished last week, so now it is time to get back to our job. This term, all the groups are going to work about our village, San Roque, and the area the village is located, the 'Campo de Gibraltar'. We have distributed the topics and A new world of possibilities is working on a general view of San Roque, giving information about the social and municipal situation, history, labour activity, gastronomy, weather and landscapes, tourism and sports.
