    Hello!

As you know, our trip to Canada will be soon. We are travelling in December, so we are going to spend Christmas in this country, concretely in Calgary.

Calgary is the most populated city in Alberta, one of the nine Canadian provinces. This city, which is located between the mountains, is full of skyscrapers, emphasazing Calgary Tower, for example. It is very known here the Glenbow Museum, where you can find, above all, abstraction art.

Landscapes and green areas are spectacular in Calgary too!

Moreover, this city has lots of places to visit. The most famous museum is the Royal Alberta Museum. Another important gallery is te Telus World of Science where you can find exhibits and theatres. Most of its things are related to astronomy, robotics and mechanics.  I am giving you some photos about these two places.

    Hello!

"A new world of possibilities" has finished the survey about the importance of the English language in our lives and all the participants have chosen the first option: it is very important and necessary to travel or to work ago. This option has won the survey with the 100% of the votes. Thank you very much for your opinions and we propose you a new one.

INTERESTING NEWS

      Hi people!

I offer you an article by CBC NEWS about the future of the elephants in zoos in Canada.  There are some arguments because an expert and director of a zoo, David Hancocks,  disagree with the elephant's life in zoos. In our trip, we are going to visit the famous Valley Zoo, in Edmonton and another in Calgary.

Toronto ground zero for battle over future of elephants in zoos

More zoos moving away from elephant programs

For the past year and a half, a fierce battle has raged over whether three African elephants should stay in their decades-old home at the Toronto Zoo.

But it's a battle that some experts say is now at the centre of a larger North American debate about the future of elephants in zoos.

Deciding to stop housing the showstopping animals that bring so many visitors through its front gates is no easy decision —and one that's put it at the centre of a larger North American debate about the future of elephants in zoos.Since the facility opened in 1974, the Toronto Zoo has always had elephants.

In an interview with CBC's the fifth estate, internationally renowned zoo director and architect David Hancocks thinks that zoos are "on the cusp of a major paradigm shift."

While people have wondered for years whether a zoo can exist without the presence of an elephant, Hancocks suggests a different future. "I suspect as soon as 10 years time we'll probably hear people say, 'How can you call yourself a zoo if you've got an elephant in it?'"

Let's know about me

Hello everybody!

This is my first time doing something like that, so if it's not very good, excuse me!
My name is Maria Nieto and I'm sixteen years old. I live in La Linea de la Concepcion, a city with beautiful sights and beaches. There, you could find a big seaside where people usually do sports or go for a walk. Moreover, there are many places for teens, what is too important in my opinion to enjoy in our free time.
I love travelling and visiting other cities and cultures. Since I was ten years I have travelled abroad for a month in summer and I stay with a family who let me know about their traditions and their lifestyles. For example, once I was in San Francisco, it was amazing! I would like to repeat that experience
In this blog I'm organaising with some friends a project to travel to Canadá, and you could read what we have plannd for each city we're going to visit, for example: Toronto.
I hope you find this interesting!

This is me in Chinatown, San Francisco, CA

SOMETHING ABOUT TORONTO

    Hello again!

As you know, I am going to give you some information about the monuments and places we are visiting.

The first city we are going is Toronto. In Canada, the biggest cities have striking buildings, specially skyscrapers. One of the most famous in Toronto is the CN Tower, which is a building with spectacular views from three different floors. On of them is the well-known observatory Sky Pod. Do not miss it if you travel to this country!

I suggest you watching this video, where you can see the city of Toronto in general, with monuments, skyscraper, shops, and so on.
